The track follows the release of ‘Push It Down’ earlier this year
Winnipeg’s Taylor Janzen and her powerful sound are back in full display on latest release ‘Something Better’.
The 21 year old singer-songwriter is at her most anthemic and inspiring on the track, calling out for something to change and a different way. Her alt-folk tendencies are still prevalent here but the sound often gives way to more cathartic walls of sound and bursts of emotion from the artist. Taylor Janzen continues to use her sound as an outlet for her thoughts and feelings and consistently channels these into raw and affecting feeling hits.
“I wrote Something Better about how our childhood experiences shape who we are as adults. Over the past year I’ve learned a lot about nurturing my inner child, hearing them out, making room for them.” Taylor says of the track.
“A lot of the things I struggle with now as an adult are patterns that started from generations before me, wounds that were never healed, born from people who never learned how to heal. This song is about wanting better for myself, tending to my fears and trying to find new healthy ways to exist.”
