The holiday track follows the release of their acclaimed album Disconnections from earlier this year
At a title of year where we’re often sold dreams of perfection and surrounded by songs that document boundless joy and good times, The Assist have gone for something a bit more grounded in reality as they put their distinctive, charming take on the modern Christmas song on ‘Divorced for Christmas’.
The track does a great job of capturing the more human side of the holiday season, right down to the squabbles and little details that just seem to go wrong and prevent things from being the picture perfect idea that we’re often sold. Regardless though, the track has a fun and upbeat feel to it throughout and makes for some really rousing singalong moments that can still bring the family together in spite of the imperfection.
