A brash and exciting modern rock band that are celebrated for the energy and passion that they pour into their craft, Ontario’s The Dirty Nil are a band that pack a hell of a punch and have a huge catalogue of tracks that demonstrate their hard-hitting and exciting appeal.

Their latest single ‘Fail In Time’ is the band in their purest and most black and white form, creating straight up, hard-hitting rock bangers that are intended to be heard with the volume all the way up. Lyrics surrounding themes like the inevitable fading of happiness bring an angsty and impassioned edge to the chaos. Throw in a crushing breakdown and a fun I Think You Should Leave reference for good measure, and the band have a really fun and multi-faceted track that is dripped in appeal.

“When true joy enters your life, you know it’s got a return ticket to wherever it came from.” Guitarist/vocalist Luke Bentham says. “I wrote the chorus of the song first and wanted to make the verses as triumphant as possible – we even got an I Think You Should Leave reference into the second. Then we hit the pre-chorus where happiness begins to fade. The chorus is about knowing it’s over… that little spark is gone. [Engineer] Vince [Solivari] insisted we put a hardcore breakdown in at the end and I’m glad we listened to him.”
