With the release of their debut album What You’ve Got to Lose to Win It All, London’s The Howlers have arrived as a fully formed and ambitious modern rock band with a flair for the anthemic, expansive and irresistible, boasting a distinctive appeal and catchy allure that has them in a league of their own stylistically.

The latest single from the band is ‘I Need Your Love’, a track that highlights this ambition and the scope of their sound through its use of cinematic brass and strings while boasting an earworm of a chorus that feels set to whirr around in your head for long after your listen to the track. ‘I Need Your Love’ in many ways feels like the quintessential The Howlers track, expansive in its scope and appeal, wildly catchy and unapologetically anthemic, and full of the charismatic, Western-edged charm and appeal that the band have made their own and built their name off.

“I Need Your Love is the first instance on the album where the album title is teased in lyrical form, the track conception and inclusion on the album were uneasy and the source of much debate as I could never quite get my head around the song, often opting to take the stance of ‘it was just something I wrote to get rid off’ which is often when the best songs come into being. It wasn’t until pre-production sat in a rehearsal room where Chris and Tommy (Black Honey) proceeded to convince us it was ‘THE ONE’, playing the song in the background like some underfunded TED Talk all the while I paced the room saying ‘Nope’. That the record ended up on the final tracklisting, to think we almost passed up on one of the best songs we have ever written is laughable now”
