THE HYBRIS are three friends who live in Nice, L.A. and Cologne and bring their sound together through the use of a shared virtual recording studio. I know that because I read it just now, but you would never guess when listening to the bewildering intricacies and razor sharp tightness of their sound.
The latest track to highlight their sonic precision is the new single ‘Impostor Syndrome’, a rousing and dynamic release about the fear of not being good enough, and the way that this can infiltrate the different facets of your life. The track skips through genres and styles with reckless abandon, more than happy to provide you with an abrupt left turn if you feel like you’re getting comfortable, but somehow never feeling jarring or out of place. There is a really palpable sense of energy and occasion that builds throughout the track, and ironically, ‘Impostor Syndrome’ turns out to be a glowing showcase of an outfit that are really good at making music.
