Channelling their influences from a variety of acts as varied as The Beatles, Nirvana, Radiohead and R.E.M, UK alternative outfit The Idle Silence have begun to establish themselves as a band with a flair for the catchy and melodic while packing more than their fair share of cutting edge and guile.

The latest single from the outfit is ‘Close’, an upbeat and raucous release that captures the energy and rawness of their live set, packed with an imperfect, endearingly real charm that provides the sound with a tonne of personality and heart. Everything here from the crashing drums, to the engaging riffs feels explosive and exciting, taking from their wide pool of influences and putting together a sound that feels entirely their own. The Idle Silence are still in their formative stage as a recording outfit, but the bones of a really memorable and fun sound are there, and we can’t wait to hear how they expand upon it and continue to carve out their unique style.
