Husband and wife duo The Know channel their favourite indie aritsts in their debut single release ‘143’. A project that began as a bit of festive fun, the pair – namely Daniel Knowles and Jennifer Farmer – have since penned a whole EP’s worth of material.
Los Angeles dwellers, the couple opted to stay put in December 2018 and not travel back to their native lands for the festive season and instead attempt making music together and appreciate their time. Deciding to take their project a bit more seriously and adopting the moniker “The Know”, the band share their debut single ‘143’.
Intertwining dreamy melodies with pop sentimentalities and fantastical lyrics, the track relishes indulging in the dense soundscapes. Overlaying humming synths with flourishes of chimes and Farmer’s charming vocal, it harmoniously marries their love of acts such as Beach House, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Tom Waits.
As the first track that The Know created together, it seems only fitting that this is how they introduce themselves to the wider world.
‘143’ is available now, with the debut EP to follow in 2020.
