The track carries on where their emphatic comeback single ‘Lovers Come and Lovers Go’ left off.
Following on from the stellar ‘Lovers Come and Lovers Go’, their first new single single 2016, UK indie rock royalty The Pigeon Detectives have followed it up with the similarly emphatic ‘Falling To Pieces’, ahead of the release of their upcoming sixth LP TV Show.
The track opitimises the fun nature of The Pigeon Detectives and their effortlessly catchy sound, taking the raw, brash sense of personality that made their earlier work so beloved and providing it with a more modern edge, exactly what you would hope for from such an iconic band. The track is stacked full of anthemic melodies, driving hooks, and a massive, massive sense of earnesty and heart. Following festival appearances in 2022 and the release of two excellent singles, The Pigeon Detectives are well and truly back on the map, and deservedly so.
Adding about ‘Falling To Pieces’, they said, “Sometimes a song writes itself, the good ones, the really really good ones always do and they just come easy because you know you’re onto something special straight away…file ‘Falling To Pieces’ into that category. We wrote this one to play live, we wrote this one to kick off the mosh pits at a festival and to raise the roof of every venue when we take it on tour. Lyrically it’s about admitting that things in life aren’t always great, that sometimes the things that are going wrong are probably your own fault, but if you hang on in there the bad times will pass and it always gets better. This is a really fun song to play as a band and we think you’re going to love it”.
