On their immersive and resonating new single ‘Angels in the Snow’, UK indie rock trio The Rills continue to showcase the more considered and vulnerable side to their sound that they have been expressing as of late, delving into euphoric and adventurous territory with rousing effect.

The track has a hopeful and charming nature to it throughout, emblazoned with a message of hope and closure to it as it serves as the closing track from their upcoming debut album Don’t Be A Stranger. The band’s indie rock flair and stadium-sized hooks are still on full display, but there is a more nuanced and searching feel to the band’s more recent output, and the maturity provides a really nice contrast to some of the band’s more chaotic work and really rounds out their appeal as a multi-faceted and three-dimensional modern band.

“The overriding feeling I get from this song is hope.” shares Mitch of the album’s outro, “It’s one of the more melancholic songs on the record, but there’s a sense of closure to it. It’s definitive.” He describes the intoxicating track as “the best snapshot of the whole album: self-aware, angsty but ultimately hopeful.
