The vastness of the online world and the disconnected and overwhelming way that it can make things seem is something that many people struggle with in recent times, unable to seem to cut through the noise and be heard and find anything that seems genuine or real, and latest The Trusted single ‘Yellowhammer’ does a great job of exploring these issues.
The track has a really dynamic and cutting edge feel to it throughout, the band are often known to experiment with their sound and push it in different directions but this feels like hard-hitting, emotionally charged indie rock in the most straight-forward and impactful way. This echoes the feeling of just wanting to find something authentic and real amongst all of the chaos and mess, serving as a companion for anybody that feels lost or out of focus in an increasingly challenging and changing world, and it makes for a really powerful and cathartic listening experience as a result.
