The track is from his latest EP Say What You Want
An artist who only seems to be rising to bigger heights and climbing higher ceilings whenever you check in on them, Tom A. Smith is perfect example of the distinctive flair and creativity that UK artists have that feels distinctive to the region, armed with a sound and style that feel entirely his own and a shifting sound that seems to grow and expand over time.
His single ‘I Don’t Blame You’ is a release that is oozing swagger and bravado throughout, self-written, self-produced, and mixed by Tom himself and feeling all the more focussed and engrossing for it. The new release is packed full of catchy grooves and and a light-hearted appeal while having the signature grit that has characterised a lot of his more recent work, and it continues to highlight an artist who keeps transforming and reinventing himself right before our eyes.
Speaking about the focus track “I Don’t Blame You”, Tom says: “I wanted to make something that didn’t take itself too seriously. I self-produced and mixed the track and I wanted to keep the new electronic sound whilst also concentrating on the groove. We’ve been playing it live over the summer and it’s been a lot of people’s favourite.”
