Following the release of his encouraging debut ‘Slowly Sinking’ earlier this year, Manchester’s Tom Elliot has continued to develop and expand on his modern indie-punk sound on his sophomore single ‘Holy Ghost’.

The track explores the complexities and guilt that comes with not being around enough and feeling distant and absent when a friend of yours is going through a tough time, and the rawness and authentic tone of the sound does a great job of heightening the emotion and rawness of the situation. The influence of genres like alternative rock and midwest emo shine through the sound throughout, and this kind of passionate and heart-on-sleeve style gives the sound a really three dimensional and immersive quality that serves it well, making for a fleshed out and engrossing listening experience throughout. The artist’s initial two singles have done a really solid job of establishing his unique appeal and rousing style, and the release of his upcoming debut EP Dead Flower Radio Hour should hopefully see the artist build some real momentum.
