The track continues to highlight the emphatic appeal of the Perth artist
There is an unwritten rule when working on cruise liners – don’t fall in love with the other entertainers. The amount of time that people are confined in the same place with nowhere to run and hide is a recipe for disaster if things go wrong, and funnily enough, this is exactly what Perth singer-songwriter Trent-Jean did, as he explores in his new single ‘Crescent Moon’.
The track has an anthemic and impossibly energetic and stirring tone to it throughout, with the artist’s rousing, instantly engrossing vocals giving the track a powerful and irresistible appeal from the moment that it begins. The narrative here pulls you on a gorgeous adventure of love and romance found on the brink of giving up, and the sheer energy and drive of the single ensures that it will stick around in your head and in your head for long after your first listen.
“I wrote ‘Crescent Moon’ in the middle of the Caribbean ocean singing on a cruise ship.” Trent-Jean says of the track. “In the style of Titanic I took a fellow entertainer up to show her all the stars in the sky on the top of the boat.. to my discovery there were no stars in the sky, yet a crescent moon glowing in the distance. I then told her “the crescent moon, is the thing that pops up when you’ve just about given up hope looking for that ‘thing’ you initially were searching for, but to then find something even more spectacular just around the bend – after that she pulled out her pendant and showed me that there was a crescent moon hanging around her neck.”
