Blending together psychedelic rock, punk and jazz in their own unique and off-kilter fashion, London based five-piece Wednesday’s Child are an outfit that have a unique style and appeal that feels entirely their own, both through the unpredictable edge and bite of their sound and its energetic bounciness.
The latest release from the outfit is ‘Theda’, the first single from their upcoming EP Seven Sisters. The track is full of the insatiable sense of energy and glorious weirdness that encompasses their sound, complete with fun guitar hooks and vocals that range from the frenzied to an almost post-punk-edged chant of bands like Talking Heads and Courting. Wednesday’s Child are perplexing, they’re genre-bending and creative and weird but above all they are irresistibly fun, and this track is just the latest showcase of the guile and distinctive appeal that the band possess.
