Sydney producer/drummer Alistair Hayes and singer-songwriter Alana Patmore are youproblem, an exciting emerging duo that are rapidly establishing their engaging brand of thoughtful indie pop.

Following the carefree bliss of ‘Wasting Time’, ‘Drunk’ delves into more sobering territory, drawing on themes such as self-sabotage and drinking culture. Musically, the sound is still packed full of fun and energetic moments, but these are met with dark, broody lyrics, a groggy bassline and disorienting ambience. ‘Drunk’ immediately establishes another facet to the sound of the emerging duo, and does a nice job of fleshing out their sonic world and providing a glimpse into the scope and wide-ranging potential of the project. With two thoroughly encouraging releases under their collective belt with two wholly different vibes, it will be exciting to see what direction youproblem push their sound into next.

“This song is really about that kind of pattern you get into when you start losing it a bit.” Alana says of the track. “It’s sitting at the top of a really long water slide down to a bottom that you can’t see. The vibe is drinking your problems away but you’re young and it’s fun so it doesn’t seem like an issue until it is.”
