AJIMAL release timely video for song in quarantine
Fran O’Hanlon AKA AJIMAL has released a video for the beautiful ‘Above All Else, Be Kind’, during a time when that should be the world’s priority.
“The video was made during the week I had to self-isolate in my room with symptoms of Coronavirus. The idea was to ask friends, fans, family and colleagues, from both the medical and music worlds I work in, to hold up a line from the song. Even though we can’t be in the same place at the same time, I want it to be a show of solidarity.”
Written in 2016 on the awful day Trump won the US election, the track reflects the light that can still make out it in a dark world, and is just as relevant during the Coronavirus crisis.
“It compounded a growing feeling that we only seem to be aware of our own individual circumstances; increasingly intolerant and suspicious of others; too busy to engage with people around us and unwilling to recognise that they might be struggling. It feels like it has particular relevance in this strange moment where, as a planet, we’re faced with something that threatens the lives of millions of people if we don’t act together.”
