Brighton based solo artist ELLiS·D pays ode to unborn generations in latest single ‘Homecoming Queen’
ELLiS·D returns with the emotive new number, ‘Homecoming Queen’. Emotive in the way that it will leave you thinking and not crying, the latest single pays ode to unborn generations and the struggle to come to terms with what lies in our futures.
Set for release worldwide tomorrow via his own DIY label ‘Change The F*cking Records!’, the track is based around a garage-rock and rock-pop groove that uses bittersweet melodies to convey its legendary story.
Sharing his thoughts on the new single, ELLiS·D explains, “I wanted to express the conflict I feel within myself about taking the decision whether or not to raise a child with the environment perched on a knife-edge.
I have a deep longing to one day experience the bond between parent and child, but this longing is always shadowed by a twisted guilt for the kind of future we will leave behind, and so ‘Homecoming Queen’ is a confession in that respect to both our societal, and my own personal shortcomings.”
A tongue in cheek apology to future generations, the relatable number is for the people that dwell on subjects that are totally out of our control.
Having received past support from BBC Introducing and sites across the web, ELLiS·D is certainly an artist that deserves his name in firm lights, and ‘Homecoming Queen’ confirms this.
