Damon Albarn has said an animated Gorillaz film is being made – and will be finished during the completion of Song Machine Season Two.
Calling it “an animated film that’s kind of abstract”, Albarn has said “We signed contracts, we’ve begun scripts and stuff”, but called it a “big risk for a movie studio because they’re very expensive”.
He also explains his high confidence for the quality of the film, saying “I see a lot of people doing animated videos these days but I don’t think they really touch the quality of ours. We’re more in the world of Studio Ghibli.”
