Pondarosa release danceable new single ‘As You Think’
Pondarosa are back with their addictive new single ‘As You Think‘. Released today worldwide, the psychedelic and disco-led new track uses it’s best foot forwards to groove listeners through realms of indie goodness.
An energetic number that must be played to a packed out dance-floor one day (when this madness is over obviously), ‘As You Think’ draws influenced from New Order, Dua Lipa and even ABBA.
On the new release, Pondarosa stated, “As You Think feels like the beginning of something for us. A step towards the sound we’ve always wanted to create: the danceability of disco and the mystique of psychedelia. Lockdown allowed us to start working towards that and in many ways we’ve made a positive of the time away from live music.
Lyrically, it’s rooted in being aware of your own beliefs and the beliefs of others. The way the world is now, people feel incredibly strongly about what they believe in. There’s those who want to do everything they can to be like others, and flipping it around there’s a lot of people who think their beliefs and actions are what others should follow. It’s about assessing both sides of the coin really. You’re never going to change everyone’s mind, and the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Musically, we’ve added swirling synths, disco beats and funky basslines to transform an old favourite into something new entirely. And it’s something you’ll be hearing a lot more of in the future. We’ve got a whole batch of disco-psychedelia tunes ready and waiting for next year, and we can’t wait for you to hear them.”
Already gaining support from BBC Introducing, ‘As You Think’ is destined to make you move and promises some form of reassurance within the world’s current darkness.
