Canadian trio Lucid make a welcome return with their bouncy new single ‘Terrified’ and muse on the real definition of love.
Channelling the dreamy tones of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Deerhunter, but with a poppier edge, the Vancouver band root funky basslines and toe-tapping beats for an immediate ear-worm of a track. Offset with lush synth tones and undeniably catchy melodies, ‘Terrified’ has a more serious and emotion-fuelled core.
““Terrified’, was inspired by the inability to make a decision and the fear surrounding that process,” share the band of their latest release. “While the lyrics may read like that of a classic love song, ‘Terrified’ is a reminder that love isn’t a person but a pursuit”.
