Australian alt-pop artist BEKS unveils impressive visuals for ‘The Thing About Us’
BEKS unveils the unforgettable visuals for single ”The Thing About Us‘. With the single already at over 64,000 streams on Spotify alone, the video showcases a new perspective for the already captivating release.
Gaining support from Rolling Stone Magazine, Music Feeds and Triple J to name a few, this Australian alt-pop artist is certainly climbing her way to the top, and also has been dubbed as the ‘Australian Dua Lipa’.
On the visuals, BEKS told us, “Whilst preparing to shoot the music video for ‘The Thing About Us’, myself and the director were casting actors to play the main role, but I didn’t find anyone with chemistry. Simultaneously, I was seeing someone I’d just met on tinder, with no acting experience, but we cast him for the role.
Whilst shooting the car scene, my love interest had to drive a vintage convertible at 100kmp on the highway whilst the crew drove next to us, this was a high-intensity maneuver and that’s when the tension and cracks started to show in our off-screen relationship.
During filming, we had to create a fight scene and I think the music video was cursed because we broke up straight after shooting. The context of the mock fight translated into real-life, which was spooky but not unbelievable considering my flailing love life and constant state of independence is the inspiration for the song.”
“The Thing About Us” is taken from an upcoming release, and explores memorable hook-lines and a glistening chorus. Visually, it’s packed with eye-catching content and fun-loving acting.
