King Casio unveil unforgettable new single “Big Truck”
Remarkable trio King Casio release authentic single “Big Truck” and the captivating visuals to go with it. Already receiving support from Radio X, KCRW and The Line of Best Fit on previous releases, ‘Big Truck’ is a bold new anthem stating this outfit mean business.
Psychedelic and fusing lo-fi indie sensibilities to portray their personality, ‘Big Truck’ weaves through soft psych jazz – if that isn’t even a thing, it sure is now.
Talking about the video, Petter from the band had this to say, “Big Truck” has always been a weird kids show theme song. During the 70s in Sweden there was a lot of musicians that were hired to write theme songs for these heavily socialist children shows.
I wanted to try and capture that era and also use footage from the film “The Goose Hunt” made by my dad and his friends in 1973. The second kissing scene between my dad and his friend Björn that then turns Björn back into a frog was initially way way longer but I had to cut it to make it fit with the track. Enjoy!’
Visually bewitching, the nostalgic concept is bathed in 1970’s stylings. Showcasing a humourous nature to their songwriting, the visuals are like something straight out of a Monty Python sketch, or even a Charlie Chaplin episode.
Bizarre yet vibrant, ‘Big Truck’ is another stand out moment in King Casio’s career to date.
