Brooklyn based artist Lily Hain returns with upbeat alt-pop wonder ‘IMYJ (I Made You Jealous)’
Lily Hain returns with distinctive new anthem ‘IMYJ (I Made You Jealous)‘, and it’s a smooth offering sent straight from Lily’s safe haven.
Kicking off the summer with a trio of singles ahead of her forthcoming debut EP ‘Drifted’, ‘IMYJ’ storms onto the scene with a fierce, unapologetic attitude.
Sharing her thoughts with us on the single, Lily states, “My favorite part of making IMYJ was definitely the recording and production process.
For most songs I write, I have a pretty clear vision of what I want production wise but I had no idea what I wanted for this song.
Initially, when my producer, Joe (Aire Atlantica), and I were messing around with ideas for production, IMYJ had kind of a Dua Lipa vibe going for it. However, when Joe was working on the second verse he made all the musical elements drop out except for the bass and my vocals.
I loved that part so much that we decided to base the whole song around that idea, which is how this final version came to be.”
A silky offering that uses smooth tinges of alt-pop to create its signature sound, its like Rae Morris met up with Maggie Rogers to have a jam.
“IMYJ” is out everywhere tomorrow and comes across as Lily Hain at her best.
