Chris D’Lima releases cinematic new single ‘Dreams’
Singer-songwriter Chris D’Lima shares his new track ‘Dreams’, a melancholic ode to finding a path in life, delivered through a misty, and suitably dreamy, lens.
Layers of cinematic strings, acoustic guitar strums and celestial harmonies echo throughout the track with Chris’ calming vocals and questioning lyrics piercing through, both emotional and sincere.
Speaking about the new track, Chris D’Lima shares: “This song was written about 5 years ago, at a point in my life where I didn’t know what I wanted or who I wanted to be.
The song reflects my state of mind at the time, giving up on my dreams for the short term as I had lost hunger and motivation for everything and knew that I needed to step away from the pressure I put on myself to just figure out what makes me happy. I guess I’m still figuring that out.”
When things didn’t escalate, Chris decided to take some time away from music and focus on other ventures.
When he eventually came back to his first love, it was with a new outlook – more as a songwriter than a performer.
This opened up the opportunity for more experimentation and creativity, hence why he feels free to release ‘Dreams’, a song which he has held on to for many years.
