Aiming to shake up the modern rock scene and provide something a little bit more unique and different, UK outfit SLEEP WELL BEAST have begun to establish their dynamic and emphatic sound on their debut single ‘Out of Date’.
The track feels relentless, packed with intensity and a sense of drive from the moment that it starts. There are soaring, melodic moments here but it is all permeated with a real sense of bite and an uncompromising rawness, exemplifying the ethos of an outfit who aren’t content fitting in with the crowd. SLEEP WELL BEAST have positioned themselves as an opposition to everything mainstream and conventional, aiming to be bolder, louder and more exciting with their brash style and abrasive sound, this initial release has immediately established the outfit as an antidote to the norm, and we look forward to hearing what they’re going to do next.
“Rock music is pretty bland right now, we spent lockdown writing, getting angry at the TV and figuring out Tik Tok.” SLEEP WELL BEAST’s Josh Hixon says. “We were hesitant Tik Tokking at the start but at the end of the day its pretty fun and we get a kick out of ripping into Pale Waves and pissing of transphobes. Out Of Date is a musical morning caffeine kick up the ass.”
