The outfit’s newest release is actually one of their oldest songs.
At this point I’m seriously starting to doubt whether Northampton indie outfit Sarpa Salpa are capable of writing bad songs. For what seems like years and years, the band have been unerringly consistent with their effortlessly catchy, synth-laden sounds that have a really timeless, everlasting quality.
The latest of these tracks is their new single ‘She Never Lies’, a typically infectious and exciting new release that explodes to life in vintage Sarpa Salpa fashion. Everything from the whirring synths, to the thoughtful writing, to the track’s energetic, larger than life chorus has all of the hallmarks of an indie dancefloor filler. Sarpa Salpa might be the best in the game currently when it comes to melding indie sensibilities with impossibly fun, danceable rhythms to craft stadium sized hooks, and ‘She Never Lies’ is a great band doing exactly what they’re best at.
Speaking on the new single the band say ‘’She Never Lies was one of the first songs we wrote together as a band! We wrote it a long time ago back when we still rehearsed at Marcus (vocals) parents house! It’s become somewhat of a live fan favourite and it felt like the perfect time to revisit it in a studio setting. We’re so proud of how it turned and think it’s some of our best work to date!”.
