The track is the first instalment from an upcoming debut EP from the trio.
Lycio have long been lauded in the West Midlands and beyond for their fiery and thoughtful sound that drips with a really distinctive sense of personality and charm, with their style ranging from the sultry and enticing to the more volatile and explosive.
Their latest single ‘Danger’ falls more on the side of the former, with its deliberate pacing and brooding sense of darkness making for a release that feels as sexy as it does expansive. The atmospheric tension and bubbling, synthy aesthetic makes for a listening experience that evokes the spirit of a track about unspoken desires and forbidden temptations perfectly. Lycio have always been a band to explore and adventure with their sound, and ‘Danger’ might just be their most experimental and unique release to date, provocative, dangerous and consistently exhilarating.
“Danger is about temptation, lust and sexual tension.” Lycio’s Genie Mendez says of the track. “It’s about getting that knot in your stomach for someone you know you shouldn’t be into. It’s about knowing the feeling is secretly reciprocated, but the bond will forever remain unspoken and forbidden.”
