The Toronto band are on a stellar run of form over the last few years.
Their vibrant and explosive brand of alternative rock has led to many tipping Toronto outfit MONOWHALES as potential breakout stars, boasting catchy and dynamic sounds that continue to demonstrate their immersive power.
The latest release from the band is ‘Hear Me Out’, a track that feels as cathartic and emphatic as ever, with soaring riffs and melodies meeting thoughtful, introspective lyrics about the balance between life at home and on the road, and the difference that it can have to your state of mind. While touring and being on the road aren’t universal experiences, it is easy to find resonance with the sound if you’re anyone who has a certain place that you hold dear, that makes you feel like you belong and like you can be yourself, and this track celebrates those spaces and the things and people that allow us to be who we are.
“When I’m on tour, I get to surround myself with the most accepting and welcoming people on earth,” vocalist Sally Shaar explains. “I feel so heard, so supported. ‘Hear Me Out’ explores how difficult it is for me to live without that outlet.” Their new single is “classic MONOWHALES evolved,” guitarist Zach Zanardo adds. “Emotional, proud, explosive.”
