The track has this powerful cinematic edge to it throughout, both thanks to its immersive storytelling and the similarly captivating music video that comes with it. The pandemic was a time that made a lot of people reflect on their lives and their place in the world and this new single reflects and articulates those feelings in stirring fashion, finding solace in the little things and coming to terms with what truly matters. If you’re looking for an exploration of love and hope in its purest form then this track is definitely something worth listening to.
“You’re My Reason Why’ is my favourite song on the album. I’ve always wanted to write a dystopian love song” explains Charlotte. “I love dystopian and post-apocalyptic art and experiencing a pandemic obviously brought a lot of end-of-the-world feelings to the forefront. Suddenly the art I once found a strange comfort in, struck a different feeling in me – I was fearful, it was a big wake-up call of how finite and fragile life actually is.”
