With their upcoming new album Read the Room set to be released on May 3rd, alternative rock duo Pleaser have offered the first glimpse into the collection of tracks in the form of their engrossing and thoughtful new single ‘Always Lookin’ In’.
The track is about a longing for finding out where you belong in the world and experiencing something new, and the band have mirrored this idea by embracing a new side to their sound that does a great job of encapsulating exactly what the track is about. This more subdued and measured side to their sound offers more than its fair share of compelling moments, with it’s laid-back charm and rich storytelling doing a really rousing job of ensuring that it feels immersive and engrossing as the track progresses. ‘Always Lookin’ In’ is a really great teaser for the new album, hinting that the band are willing to experiment with and take risks with their established sound, and time will tell how far they push that on the new LP.
