Relationships are complicated to say the least, and latest Shane Rennison single ‘Irrational’ is a relatable and engrossing indie pop track that explores the situation when things get heated and one of you blows something out of proportion and makes a big deal out of nothing, with sometimes fatal consequences for the relationship.
The track has a composed and charming feel to it throughout stylistically as the artist relays some of these avoidable arguments and situations in conversational fashion, detailing how we can often be our own worst enemy in these situations and can seem to struggle to do anything right or to fix things. The repeated refrain of “would you come home?” towards the end of the track sees the artist looking to make amends and try to restore a bit of peace and normalcy, but at that point it might just already be too late.
