The track follows the release of the stellar, CLOUT-premiered ‘Cinematic and Chrome’
On their stirring and thoughtful fourth single ‘Learn to Surf’, Leeds indie rock outfit about-faces continue to highlight everything that it is that makes the band feel so special, armed with a rawness and vulnerability that feels effortlessly captivating and gives their sound this authentic honesty that can’t be replicated or manufactured.
The new track is one that compares the trials and struggles of life with surfing, being able to manage the waves and the storms that come with it and keep persevering and moving forward regardless. The uplifting tone and the emotion in the performances elevate it to truly rousing and moving status, both heart-wrenching and inspiring and with an optimism that cuts through. The track and its message make for compelling listening, and when you consider that the band was formed in honour of frontman Sennen Ludman’s father, the late guitarist of the iconic northern punk band ‘Bedlam Ago Go’, it only adds to the depth and meaning of it.
