Who TF are I See Orange?

We had a chat with rising UK based alternative trio I See Orange following the release of their excellent new single ‘Doll Guts’

A London based grungy alternative rock trio led by the captivating vocals of Mexican singer Giselle Medina, I See Orange are a band with a truly unique feel and sense of character about them that permeates the distinctive feel of their sound and appeal across their releases.

The band’s latest single ‘Doll Guts’ is a release that does a great job of encapsulating the allure of their style, melding gritty, grungy sensibilities that hark back to the 90s and 2000s while injecting it with a bit more of a modern cutting edge that feels engrossing throughout. Their sound and presentation seems to be one of contrasts, melding the cute with the creepy, the melodic with the dark, innocence with mischief and menace, and the new single and its video are packed full of fun and captivating moments that articulate this. We love the new release, and figured it would be a great time to have a chat with I See Orange to find out a bit more about the trio and their plans for the future.

Who TF are I See Orange?

We are a 3-piece alternative post-grunge rock band. Taking inspiration from the great 90’s and early 2000’s bands, adding our own special flavour to create something truly special, a Heavy melodic rock that captivates the essence of the 90’s, a kind of music we feel has been sorely missed by the music scene for a long time. Starting in late 2022 after an impromptu rehearsal session and discovering the chemistry we had playing together we quickly got to work, writing, playing gigs and recording, releasing our first single in that same year, shortly followed by our debut EP Lonesome Joy.

I See Orange consists of: Giselle Medina on Vocals and Bass, Cameron Hill on Guitar and Charlie Hart on Drums.

Hailing from Mexico, Giselle brought to the UK her unique taste and a talent for writing folk pop, looking to explore a new musical direction fuelled by a passion for rock. Finding Cameron and Charlie, two British born and raised musicians marked the inception of I See Orange, mixing multiple genres into their unique post-grunge sound, a deliberate combo of captivating melodies, clever lyricism and heavy rock.

‘Doll Guts’ is about the discomfort of being human. It’s an expressive release of frustration toward unwanted emotions, wrapped in a contrast of the sweet and the grotesque. Hence the title; it’s cute, but a bit messed up.
