Luke Potter explores the life that comes after the fairytale on his thoughtful new single ‘The Misery’
An artist, songwriter and producer based in the south-west of the UK, Luke Potter is somebody who has a wealth of experience crafting thoughtful and immersive tracks that resonate with listeners and create connections that feel transcendent and real.
The artist’s latest single ‘The Misery’ is a track that explores the regret and sadness that you often get assaulted with when a relationship falls apart, the reflecting on the past and wondering what went wrong, whether you were missing signals or signs that things weren’t what you’d thought. There is quite an upbeat feel to the track, and the catchy chorus does a great job of masking the heart-breaking nature of the lyrics and themes, but there is an underlying sadness that seeps its way through, making for a multi-faceted and thoughtful new release that many people will resonate with as Christmas comes around and the holes that people have left in their lives will feel that bit wider and more raw.
“Last Christmas I posted a picture of myself and my wife looking like we owned the world. Three months later we were no longer together.” Luke says of the track.
