The moniker of Alessia Balasbas, A is for Arrows is an outlet of bright and emotion-fuelled pop bops that lift the veil on her more vulnerable moments. New single ‘Every Now and Then’ is no different; underpinned by stomping beats and heart-tugging synth tones, the confessional lyrics weave their way around the track’s irresistible melodies.
“This is my “fuck you” song. Literally and figuratively,” states Barbalas of the track. “A physical back and forth between two people that has potential but falls short, that thing that you try to catch up to but never will.
“It’s about a thread that connects two bodies, regardless of the circumstances..it will always be there. The connection you have with someone that’s toxic to your well being but you keep going back for more. Simultaneously saying in a way: “never come back” and “stay”.
