German duo ÄTNA return with their eerie single ‘Grinding’. The track is the first new music to be shared since the release of their debut album Made By Desire in January.

One of their darkest songs to date, ‘Grinding’ opens with an ominous gurning synth that permeates throughout. Throbbing bass notes and clattering, semi-industrial percussion only add to the murky sound, offset with the understated and matter-of-fact tone of vocalist Inéz.

“I burn the house of America,” she states with a nursery rhyme melody, repeating the refrain over and over. The cyclical madness captures the authoritarian symbolism of present as the U.S career to their most important election in a generation.

‘Grinding’ is available now via Humming Records.
