The emerging UK talents showcase an effortless chemistry on the new release.
Alex Amor and The Deep Blue are both artist’s that have been lauded by CLOUT in the past for their distinctive and engaging sounds, so we were obviously thrilled when the the former enlisted the latter to lend their lush backing vocals for her thoughtful new release ‘Bad Tattoo’.
The Glaswegian indie-pop artist and the Manchester indie-folk group craft a dreamy and spacious soundscape on the track that flows with an effortless sense of composure and swirling freedom. Poignant lyrics surrounding themes of missing someone and struggling to let go are washed up in the dreamy waves of the track, as its gorgeous sound belies its more somber and heartbroken narrative. The track is a really effective melding together of the sounds of Alex Amor and The Deep Blue, and provides a great glimpse into Alex’s September EP The Art Of Letting Go.
Speaking more on the lyrical inspiration of the new single, Alex said:
“Bad Tattoo was written about a time when I wanted to forget someone. They kept making unwanted appearances in my thoughts across the day: while I was walking home, doing chores, lying in bed awake at night. I find it bizarre how it’s much easier to forget the good times but impossible to forget the bad times. It seems that our worst memories are stored somewhere deep inside of us and as much as I wanted to erase this person from my head, they persisted on my skin like a bad tattoo. Like one of those horrific tattoos you get in Ibiza at 3am and regret for the rest of your life.”
