Newcomer A.O. Gerber shares the stunning new single ‘All I’ve Known’. The track is the second to be shared from her forthcoming debut album Another Place to Need.
Existing in the same vein as inventive and whimsical singer-songwriters Angel Olsen and Cate le Bon, Gerber’s sound is immediately intriguing to the ear and rich despite its initial sparsity. Fittingly, ‘All I’ve Known’ begins in a restrained and delicate manner that slowly builds to an increasingly emotive peak; underpinned by sturdy guitars and drums, the track intensifies into a melodious whorl of sound decorated with smatterings of psychedelia.
Pride of place here however are Gerber’s dulcet tones. Earnest and affable, her vocal carries a reliant composure that conjures an air of safety as she coos from harmony to whisper. It’s a treat.
