With the release of her long-awaited debut album HOPE YOU’RE WATCHING, long time CLOUT favourite Arden Alexa has delivered a collection of tracks that showcase the vibrant and varied alternative pop appeal that has seen her celebrated by so many as a future breakout star, and her massive potential feels more undeniable than ever following the release.
The track we have chosen to focus on is its opener and title track ‘HOPE YOU’RE WATCHING’, an atmospheric and intimate track that sets the tone for the album with its fierce storytelling and the absorbing, cinematic sense of scope. While feeling theatrical and larger than life with its strings and striking production, there is still something inherently raw and human in her emotional delivery and the heart and soul that she pours into her sound, and it makes for a captivating listening experience that masterfully meshes substance and style, as the rest of the album does in turn.
Speaking of the album, Arden shares, “HOPE YOU’RE WATCHING is a diary, a message of triumph, a confession, a glimpse into my life as an 18-year-old, freshly graduated from high school and diving headfirst into the music industry. This album was my first step into truly figuring out what kind of artist I wanted to be and how I would channel all of my influences and inspirations into a sound entirely my own.”
