The track follows her wonderful comeback single ‘Maroon’.
Since 2020, emerging Canadian singer-songwriter Ariana Fig has been honing her craft and developing her dreamy sound with a raft of thoughtful and engaging releases.
Following on from her lauded ‘Maroon’ from earlier this year, the artist has just released her latest single ‘Guilty Pleasure’. The artist continues to establish her affable blend of dream pop and indie rock on the new release, with a real warmth and sense of richness permeating her sound and her production. Sounds of the past and more contemporary ones work seamlessly together here, anchored together by the captivating and powerful vocals of the artist, creating a track that feels both rousingly familiar while cutting edge and new.
Speaking about the new release, she said, “Guilty Pleasure is about not sugar coating what you really want even when you know it’s bad for you. People, places, memories. We all like to ponder on these thoughts for some time and beat ourselves up over the “one that got away”. I think there’s something beautiful about accepting your flaws and desires, which is what I wanted to emulate with this song.”
