The emerging artist continues to showcase her unique sound on her third single.

Three singles into her fledgling career, Irish indie pop upstart ARLENE has carved out a nice niche for herself thanks to the authentic rawness of her sound and vocals and her confessional, engaging writing style.

The third of these singles is ‘somebody else’, a colourful, synth-laden track that sees the artist explore the emotional ending of a doomed relationship. There is a really accessible, melodic feel to the track and its instrumentation but with a bit of a rougher, more rock-orientated edge that makes it stand out and feel a lot more raw. ARLENE’s unique approach to how she writes and puts her songs together is sure to win her some admirers as she continues to release, and we look forward to seeing what the creative emerging artist has yet to come.

ARLENE cleverly inserts an actual phone call recording into the track, giving that feeling of real emotion to her audience – “When I had the idea in my head, I wasn’t sure if it would work. I tried to record the line straight into the mic and then add some fx, but it felt very forced. So instead, I called my brother who was beside me at the time and then he recorded me on loudspeaker using another phone. I then brought that to my producer and it went from there really. So yeah, it’s an actual phone vox recording!”
