Leeds four piece Bad Idea are an act who are rapidly establishing their newfound fuller sound following their full formation in 2019. Latest single ‘Happy’ is a dreamy, shoegazy riot that builds and swells before descending into a quiet chaos. both nuanced and unrestrained, delicate yet volatile.

The track thematically is about the bursts of happiness that we can get among our darker times, The track seems to convey this message through its unpredictable bursts and peaks that culminate in a hookworm of a chorus, forming the apex of this enchanting and almost mesmerising track.

“Although the tone of the song seems to contrast with its emotions, Happy is actually a song about feeling good.” vocalist Sarah Sefton has said. “I can imagine that a lot of people, as well as ourselves have been stuck in a rut this past year or so – so the appearance of positive thoughts during all of this stillness and contemplation come as a shock. Songwriting is what we’ve  been left with this year, and Happy encapsulates that sense of meditation and catharsis that we’ve been unable to unleash onstage.”
