Rising alternative pop star Beren Olivia continues to establish her vast potential with every passing release and ‘Red Ripped Sweater’ is no exception.
The track serves as almost a subversion on the stereotypical break up where you disavow everything that you associate with your ex and leans into the idea of holding on to something to keep a part of them close. The track is as relatable and heartfelt as it is catchy and memorable and showcases the artist as someone with a much heart and nuance as she has evident style and star appeal. The artist’s debut EP In The Early Hours of The AM is set for release on August 20th and looks set to provide new heights for the emerging artist.
Beren Olivia explains:“After a relationship, you’re supposed to delete all the photos, block them on all social media, throw out all the things that remind you of them…but no matter what, you always end up holding onto that one thing. In this case, it was his old red vintage sweater that had a rip on the sleeve. It’s the last tangible thing I have and still holds so much meaning.”
