Having announced their debut album 789, set for release in October, socially conscious duo Berne have released their first single from body of work titled ‘Language’, a deeply thoughtful and immersive track that explores themes like not feeling like your beliefs and values are appreciated, especially in terms of things like social justice and the climate.

The atmospheric nature of the track makes for an arresting and powerful listening experience throughout, packing a slow-burning and intoxicating appeal that does a really stellar job of amplifying the message and giving it a sense of poignance and significance. ‘Language’ is a single that does a great job of establishing this new era for the band in the build up to 789, unabashedly laying out their priorities and making a stand for what they believe is right and just. The next seven months in the lead up to the album are sure to be an exciting time for Berne and their fans, and we can expect to hear more powerful messages along the way that showcase this distinctive aura and appeal that the pair possess.

“We are thrilled to be sharing Language, a track that has taken us on an interesting genre exploration and helped us refine our signature sound. We really enjoyed developing Language with Wesley Frankel on saxophone, mixed by Mercury Prize winner and Music Producer’s Guild winner Shuta Shinoda and mastered by Music Producer’s Guild Mastering Engineer of the Year 2023 Cicely Balston.”
