Bethany Ferrie comes into her own on new track ‘Stayed’

This is the sound of an artist finding their feet and really defining their sound and direction.

There’s more than meets the eye to this track.

Born out of having broken pieces of a chorus in her head for weeks, ‘Stayed’ has been a mission, but a worthwhile one for the very talented Bethany Ferrie.

Speaking about the track she explains that it “was at a time in my life where I felt really alone and distant from everyone, and the song actually ended up taking a lot longer to finish because I’m not used to being honest with myself.”

There are many different parts that go into the track, whether things, people or headspaces and it shows. We love a good complex track in a perfectly simple pop package – is that not what all the best pop songs are?

Bethany futher explains that “Having the guitar through the bridge puts me into that headspace of letting music fill an awkward silence. I kept it instrumental because sometimes you can say too much.”

It’s clear that there’s a lot of talent within Ferrie and we’re sure to see more of it soon. This is the sound of an artist finding their feet and really defining their sound and direction.
