A new release that is packed full of personality, bravado, and their signature, stylish brand of modern indie rock, latest Camens single ‘Anything to Win’ is the first taste of their upcoming new album LOS KARMA, and it immediately has us sat up and anticipating its release in February next year.
The track has a real swagger and bounce to it throughout in a way that feels like it almost transcends indie rock altogether, juxtaposing a narrative about setbacks, uncertainty and compromise with a sound that feels more self-assured and focussed than it ever has. Ultimately, the track is about the desire and hunger that it takes to keep pushing forward and digging in in spite of all of these issues, and with this marriage of substance and style and the relentless work-ethic and mentality of the band, LOS KARMA looks like it could push them to the new heights that they deserve.
“It’s about how ruthless this industry actually is. You can pour everything into it and still get overlooked,” says frontman Scott Powell. “We wanted to write something honest about that. A refusal to quit. It’s part of our story, and we’re done asking permission. We’re just going for it.”
