‘Medicine’ serves as the title track for the artists new debut EP.
Boasting a unique and cutting edge electronic pop sound, Cameron Hayes is an artist that seems to have the world at her feet. ‘Medicine’ sees Cameron at her emotive and captivating best, with a pulsating sense of darkness and mystique running throughout. There is a rawness and a sense of danger that is found within the artists sound that sees it almost delve into rock territory, threatening to unhinge and lose itself at any given time. There is an unmistakably edginess that makes the track feel vital and impossible to ignore.
“Medicine is about coping with the downfall of a relationship” Hayes has said of the track. “When you harbour feelings of anger and resentment but also sadness as you don’t understand what went wrong, and you’re at the point where you need some form of ‘medicine’ to be able to cope.”
