Australian alt-pop star Chymes is an artist who has been building acclaim with her effortlessly cool, electronic-edged sound and perfectly measured, captivating vocal performances, and her new single ‘Gasoline’ continues to justify the hype.

As soon as the track kicks in there is this impossibly sultry and cool feel that pollutes the sound, as the track melds into an almost trance-like, dreamy allure. As ‘Gasoline’ progresses it only grows more confidence and domineering, blessed with an instantly memorable and captivating chorus that just affirms exactly why so many people can’t pull themselves away from Chymes and her sound.

“It starts off feeling a bit somber with dreamy guitars and vocals, describing a relationship that lives off of gaslighting and manipulation.” Chymes says of the track. “It’s about that feeling of being pushed to your absolute limit and then turning around and saying ‘you think i’m crazy? Let me show you crazy,’ and when the chorus comes it hits hard, exactly like that moment when you flip. I’ve been in way too many friendships and relationships where it really thrived off that toxicity and I wanted to put into song form the moment when you finally snap and give in to the crazy version of you.”
