An expansive and ambitious collaboration between UK artist Darren Rook (ProjectP) and Australian artist Plasma Baby (Marie-Louise Anastas), DaPlazz was officially born in 2024 and the pair have been releasing distinctive and dynamic sounds ever since.

Their latest single ‘Nebulous’ is a track that pushes their sound in a more considered and thoughtful direction, with the abundance of ideas and sonic nuances still prevalent but employed in a more subdued fashion. The end result is a soulful and flowing track that has an almost hypnotic feel to it as it progresses, with laid-back grooves that feel akin to something like Gorillaz deep cut, with all of the ambition and scope that that comparison suggests. DaPlazz’s Darren Rook has commented about how some of his more recent work has seen him eschewing his high-octane and energetic tendencies for something that feels more mature, and this track alone is a rousing showcase of how effective that transition has been.
