London based and Leeds born artist Eden Rain is somebody who’s thoughtful narratives and captivating soundscapes have seen her consistently rising in acclaim, becoming more widely celebrated as a special talent and distinctive songwriter with every new release.

The latest of these is the powerful and intimate ‘Figure it out’, a track that the artist used to throw some of her ideas and writing that had been unused together, which ended up resulting in some of the most raw and revealing work of hers to date, relieved of the pressure of knowing that it was going to be released and revealed to the world and unburdened as a result. The theme of saying petty things in an argument that you don’t really mean is something that feels universal and real, and the way that the track builds and expands creates this sense of drunken euphoria that is so easy to find yourself swept up within.

“We started writing this song on the last day of a writing trip with two of my favourite writers, Jack and Conway.” Eden says of the track. “It was honestly a fever dream—just us throwing out stupid lyrics and ideas we hadn’t been brave enough to use in the other songs we wrote that week. Looking back, I think I put some really raw feelings into this song because I didn’t actually think we’d release it. But it’s stuck with me since January, and it’s such a messy, drunken rant. It captures that feeling of being in a fight and saying things just to hurt the other person, even if you don’t mean them.”
